Training Club Rules

  1. Upon arriving at BCDTC, your dog must be on a leash and under control at all times.
  2. Dog socialization is a very important benefit of attending class. Be respectful of your two and four legged classmates by having your dog under control at all times and keeping ample distance between dogs both in and out of crates.
  3. You are responsible for cleaning up your dog’s stool inside and/or outside the property. Indoor dog training facilities in Central Brevard are very hard to get and we need to take special care in cleaning up after our dogs. We have provided potty areas along with bags for your convenience. ANY PERSON SEEN NOT PICKING UP AFTER THEIR DOG WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE FACILITY AND NO CLASS FEES WILL BE REFUNDED.
  4. Please respect all of our neighbors by not taking your dogs to their property to relieve themselves.
  5. Give your dog ample time to relieve him/herself prior to class. It is recommended that you feed your dog after class upon returning home or only one half of their normal feeding before class. Like humans, dogs are less attentive and energetic on a full stomach.
  6. There is NO smoking inside the facility, or withing 15 ft. of the front or rear door.
  7. NO SANDALS, FLIP FLOPS, or OPEN TOED SHOES are ALLOWED. Please wear comfortable rubber sole shoes; tennis shoes are recommended.
  8. If your bitch (female dog) comes in season you may come to class but you must leave her home for the three weeks or until she is COMPLETELY out of season. If you are not sure as to when this may be, your veterinarian will help you in this decision. Fees cannot be refunded but arrangements can be made to make up classes in the next session.
  9. If you miss a class, please contact your instructor by text or email to arrange for a make-up either before or after class.
  10. For many classes, only one person may train with the dog at a time. Check with your instructor.
  11. Bring lots of small or cut-up TREATS and TOYS to use as training aids for your dog’s attention.
  12. Children are allowed to attend classes. Please caution your children when approaching a dog to ask permission before petting any dog. During class children must remain seated outside of the active training area.
  13. Abuse of dogs is NEVER acceptable. Please no hitting, kicking, or forcing of any dog as these acts can make your dog reactive or aggressive.
  14. BCDTC reserves the right to refuse training to any dog handler.
  15. Always have FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!!

Have fun, enjoy your dog, and love them as much as they love you. Remember the more you give; you will receive ten times more from your dog. They only want to please. It’s called unconditional love.
